Çanakkale Art Prize (CAP) 2011 Çanakkale exhibition WAS held with an opening ceremony on the  26th of April 2011 in Kolin Hotel.  The sixth CAP Çanakkale Art Prize 2011 participant artists underlined the importance of friendship between Turkey and Australia, through their Works.

26 works - selected by a judging panel for CAP 2011 will be exhibited in İstanbul and Ankara. The İstanbul exhibition will take place at FMV Işık University Işık Gallery, Maslak in October 2011 and  the Ankara exhibition will take place at the Prime Ministry Press and Information General Management Gallery in November 2011.

Sema SEVGEN  was awarded the first prize this year. The works by Nebi YAVAŞCA was awarded the Çanakkale Governor’s Prize, Tayfun GÜLNAR  was awarded the Ambassador’s Prize, Ufuk ÜLKER  was awarded the Rector’s Prize, Samet DOĞAN was awarded  the Special Jury Award and Emrah ÖZBAY was awarded with the Certificate of Merit.

Gelibolu Memorial Ltd. Sti. is the subsidiary of Gallipoli Memorial Club of Australia, Sydney, and is incorporated in Canakkale, Turkey.

The creed of the Company: “We believe that within the community there exists an obligation for all to preserve the special qualities of loyalty, respect, love of country, courage and comradeship which were personified by the heroes of the Canakkale Wars and bequeathed to all humanity as a foundation for perpetual peace and universal freedom”.  

In accordance with this belief, The Gelibolu Memorial Ltd. Sti. is arranging the 2012 7th.Canakkale Art Prize, in memory of the Battles of 1915 Canakkale.. The results of the Canakkale Art Prize competition will be announced on 23 April 2012. This competition is open to all persons of 18 years of age and over, resident in the Turkish Republic, Australia and New Zealand.

Gelibolu Memorial Ltd. Sti., is incorporated in Canakkale, Turkey, as a subsidiary of Gallipoli Memorial Club of Australia, Sydney. The Company was registered with the Chamber of Commerce of Canakkale in 2004.

The creed of the Company: 'We believe that within the community exists an obligation for all to preserve the special qualities of loyalty, respect, love of country, courage and comradeship which were personified by the heroes of the Canakkale Wars and bequeathed to all humanity as a foundation for perpetual peace and universal freedom'.

The field of activity of the Gelibolu Memorial Ltd. Sti. is to promote further cultural ties and establish links primarily between the Gallipoli and the Canakkale region and also between Turkey and Australia.

For this purpose the Company organises the Canakkale Art Prize.
